Safety & Standards

At LittlePeas, safety is not a trend or a marketing phrase — it is one of the foundations of our brand.

As parents ourselves, we understand how important it is to feel confident about what touches your baby’s skin, especially during the newborn and preemie stages. That’s why we are committed to thoughtful sourcing, careful material selection, and ongoing transparency as our company grows.

Thoughtfully Chosen Fabrics

Our bodysuits are made with ultra-soft organic cotton blends selected for comfort, breathability, and gentle stretch. We prioritize fabrics designed to feel soft against delicate newborn skin while still being practical for everyday use.

Features include:

  • Soft and breathable fabric
  • Gentle stretch for comfort and movement
  • Fold-over hand and foot covers
  • Smooth double zipper design
  • Tag-free heat pressed sizing and care information

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 Facility Certification

Our garments were manufactured in a facility that held OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 Class I certification at the time of production.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is a globally recognized textile testing standard focused on screening for harmful substances. Class I is the strictest category and is designed for products intended for babies and infants.

This certification standard evaluates textiles and components for a wide range of substances that may be harmful to human health.

While LittlePeas itself is not currently OEKO-TEX® certified as a brand, we intentionally chose a manufacturing partner that held this certification during production because safety and material quality are deeply important to us.

Independent Third-Party Testing

We believe trust should be earned through transparency.

To strengthen our commitment to product safety, LittlePeas is in the process of obtaining independent third-party laboratory testing for harmful substances commonly screened in infant textile products.

Testing categories may include:

  • Formaldehyde
  • Heavy metals
  • Restricted dyes
  • Phthalates
  • Additional infant textile safety standards

As testing is completed, we plan to share more information with our community.

Why We Care So Much About Safety

LittlePeas was inspired by the experience of having a premature baby.

When your child is tiny, every decision feels important — especially the products that stay against their skin all day.

We created LittlePeas to combine:

  • Comfort
  • Thoughtful sizing
  • Soft fabrics
  • Practical design
  • Transparency parents can trust

Our goal is simple:

To create clothing we would confidently use for our own children.

A Note On Continuous Improvement

As LittlePeas grows, we plan to continue improving our materials, testing, and sourcing standards.

We are actively exploring:

  • Expanded independent testing
  • Additional safety certifications
  • Greater supply chain transparency
  • Future domestic manufacturing opportunities

We know trust is built over time, and we are committed to earning it.
